A nice cool morning brought out 21 golfers – 9 eighteen hole golfers who played our Nassau format; 7 nine holers and 5 putters. The winners for the eighteen hole golfers were:
Front nine & Total – Larry Anderson with a net 33/63
Back nine – Larry Anderson and Frank Severn with a net 30
Larry also had the low score of 69.
Bob Tuttle won the closest to the pin prize.
Remember that we change start times – show at 8:30, play at 9:00. Doug
BLGC MGA 9-Holer Report
Today’s format was NASSAU which meant that the old guys had to dig deep for that extra dollar ($4 today). Our five Putting Competitors were Doug, Don, C.L., Ken and Mac (who is suffering with a foot problem probably caused by a “foot wedge” shot gone bad). The lead foursome was Greg, Jim, Tom and Tommy. The other threesome was Bob, John and me.
Here’s how the Herd did today:
Putting Competition (handicap adjusted):
1st Place for $5: Mac McConahy, 13.00 putts;
2nd Place for $4: C.L. Newsome, 13.50 putts;
3rd Place for $3: Ken Mayne, 17.14 putts;
4th Place for $2: Doug Miller, 18.00 putts;
5th Place for $1: Don Webb, 19.17 putts.
Mac set a new 9-Holer putting record of 16 gross putts. He had seven 2 putts and two “ACES.”
Golfing Competition (also handicapped):
1st Place for $6: Jim Buckingham, net 29;
2nd Place for $5: Tommy Atkins, net 30 ½;
3rd Place for $4: Tom Robinson, net 31 ½;
4th Place for $3: John Moran, net 34;
5th Place for $2: Greg Kepner, net 35;
6th Place for $1: Bob Westbrook, net 38 ½;
7th Place for $1: Paul Castiglione, net 47.
That’s it for another great day of 9-Holer golf at good old Blue Lake.
