MGA Results – 4-19-18

Another cool morning brought out 17 golfers this morning. We had 10 regular golfers who played our Eclectic format, 6 nine hole golfers and one putter (CL won today!). The results are as follows:

1st with a net score of 28 2/3: Frank Severn
2nd with a net score of 29: Larry Anderson
3rd with a net score of 29 2/3: Jay Harbison
Bob Tuttle won closest to the pin and tied with Larry Anderson with a score of 32.
It should be noted that 6 of the 10 regular golfers had net scores below 32.

BLGC MGA 9-Holer Report
Just a tremendous weather day for golf and some of the Herd took advantage of it. We had seven of those World Famous 9-Holers out for a format called ECLECTIC. The old guys are good at playing eclectic! There were six golfers and one putter, C.L. Newsome. In order to keep the pressure on C.L., the 9-Holer Quantum Computer matched him against three AI (Artificial Intelligence) putters. You can read all about that in the attached file.  20180419 BLGC MGA 9-Holer Report       And for those of you who like to keep up with the latest in golf terms and trends you will want to read all about the “provisional gimmie.” Here’s how the Herd did today:

Putting Competition:
1st Place for $2: C.L. Newsome, 26 putts (won the 8-hole scorecard playoff);
2nd Place for $0: AI JL, 26 putts;
3rd Place for $0: AI KM, 26 putts;
4th Place for $0: AI DW, 26 putts.

Golfing Competition:
1st Place for $4: Greg Kepner, net 30;
2nd Place for $3: John Moran, net 31;
3rd Place for $2: Mac McConahy, net 31 ½;
4th Place for $1: Tommy Atkins, net 34;
5th Place for $1: Bob Westbrook, net 35 ½;

That’s it for another great day of 9-Holer golf at good old Blue Lake!
