Another nice day brought out 19 golfers, or was it the promise of a great lunch? The 10 regular golfers played our Stableford format.
Chris Williams winning again with a score of +4.
His playing partner Bob Tuttle and Billy Blair tied for second with a score of +2.
Greg Kepner had the closest to the pin shot today and Bob Tuttle had the low gross score of 66.
BLGC MGA 9-Holer Report
Another terrific weather day for golf at Blue Lake. The early morning sunrise brought out nine of those BLGC MGA World Famous 9-Holers.
The old guys have learned that there is a club somewhere in Australia named Blue Lake Golf Club. So they got out the Road Atlas and began searching for it in Texas! The idea was to take a day trip there and play some 9-holer golf. But it’s most difficult to drive to Australia, especially in a day so the road trip was cancelled.
We had four Putting Competitors today using a new “putting handicap system”. And there were five Golfing Competitors still struggling with Doug’s handicap system!
It was monthly MGA meeting and lunch day so the old guys played “fast”. Their time on the course is captured in the attached file. 20180510 BLGC MGA 9-Holer Report.
And this is how they performed today (performed is the appropriate word, not played):
1st Place for $4: C.L. Newsome, net 16 putts;
2nd Place for $2: Don Webb, net 17 putts;
3rd Place for $1 each: Ken Mayne & James Longoria, net 20 putts;
1st Place for $4: Greg Kepner, net 29 (gross 37);
2nd Place for $2: Mac McConahy, net 29 ½ (gross 35);
3rd Place for $2: John Moran, net 33 ½;
4th Place for $1: Paul Castiglione, net 34;
5th Place for $1: Tommy Atkins, net 37.
Our thanks to Chris Williams, Larry Anderson and Bob Tuttle for the great lunch from Dickey’s BBQ. That’s it for another great day of 9-Holer golf at good old Blue Lake!
