MGA Results – 7-26-18

The old summer sun and heat couldn’t keep 16 of the MGA’s “finest” from a round of MEDAL PLAY golf today.  There were eight of the 18-holers who were easily grouped as two foursomes based on their bingo ball number drawings. The CTP on hole #8 had twelve entrants today with each expecting to take home all the loot if they could just hit the green!

So here’s how the 18-holers ended:
Low Gross of 71: Bob Tuttle and Mark Atkins;
First Place with a net 60: Chris Williams;
Second Place with a net 64: Larry Anderson.
And for the second week in a row Tommie Atkins (a 9-Holer mind you) won the CTP at #8 with a tee shot only 5’ 6 ½” from the hole!
World Famous BLGC MGA 9-Holers. We eventually had seven of the Herd play today. Three of the golfers (Greg, Tommie and Jim Buckingham) took off at 8 a.m. to “beat the heat.” (Good luck with that guys).

Here’s how the old guys finished today.

Putting Competition:
1st Place for $2: James Longoria with 13 putts (only for 6 holes);
2nd Place for $0: C.L. Newsome with 14 putts (only for 6 holes).

Golfing Competition:
1st Place for $5: Greg Kepner, net 31;
2nd Place for $3: James Longoria, net 33;
3rd Place for $2: Tommie Atkins and Jim Buckingham, net 34;
4th Place for $1: Mac McConahy, net 35 ½;
5th Place for $1: Paul Castiglione, net 38 ½.
That’s it for another great day of golf at good old Blue Lake!
