A cold, crystal clear morning found five hearty 18 hole golfers (there were nine 9 holers, today was their lunch day) awaiting a lengthy frost delay to begin a game of Nassau. Jay “Nassau” Harbison and Randy Cole tied the front 9 with net 32’s. Jay and Jerry Lee Robinson tied the back nine with net 30’s and Jay won overall with a net 62! Randy Cole was low gross with a 73 and Bob Tuttle won the CTP. Frank (subbing for Doug “Downhill” Miller)
BLGC MGA 9-Holer Report
The golfing competitors today were Greg Kepner, Jim Buckingham, John Moran, Bob Westbrook and me.
By 9:30 a.m. the frost was rapidly disappearing and so once the five pesky 18-holers were out of the way, the Herd was smacking away.
Here’s how the Herd did today:
Putting Competition (handicap adjusted and always subject to change):
1st Place for $0: a four-way tie; Don Webb, Mac McConahy, C.L. Newsome and Ken Mayne; 0 putts;
Golfing Competition (also handicapped): (winning rank determined by hole handicap, scores for number of holes played, an A.I. algorithm and a toss of the coin)
1st Place for $0: Jim Buckingham
2nd Place for $0: Greg Kepner
3rd Place for $0: Paul Castiglione
4th Place for $0: John Moran
5th Place for $0: Bob Westbrook
The Herd didn’t win any $ today because all they paid was $1 for the MGA. They all thought they were getting a great deal! And they did, just so long as there was enough money in the “treasury” for lunch. And there was!
That’s it for another great day of 9-Holer golf at good old Blue Lake.
